Virtual Reality Photography

Scott Highton is one of the most experienced QuickTime VR (QTVR) and iPIX (PhotoBubble) photographers in the country, and was the first to use both technologies underwater. He was the first independent photographer contracted by Apple Computer to work with and test QuickTime VR, as well as an early photographic consultant and contract photographer during development of the iPIX technology.

He offers multimedia clients two decades of experience in television and documentary film production, corporate photography and photojournalism. He specializes in high-technology and aviation subjects, as well as difficult, remote location photography including underwater, aerial and extreme environments.

QuickTime VR Gallery

Featuring an ultra-wide 360-degree panorama of world class rock climbers Jared Ogden and Mark Synnott high on the face of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, as they practice for their forthcoming expedition to Pakistan. (Photographed on assignment for Quokka Sports.)

Also featured is one of the world's largest man-made QTVR object movies -- San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. Sample further selections of leading edge QuickTime VR panoramas and object movies, photographed with a variety of creative techniques... underwater, moving objects, extreme environments, macro photography and creative lighting, showcasing the very best QuickTime VR location photography.

iPIX (PhotoBubble) Gallery

iPIXes (PhotoBubbles) allow the user the amazing ability to view a scene with unlimited perspective. Not only can you pan 360 degrees around the horizontal axis, as with QuickTime VR, but you can also look straight up, straight down and anywhere between throughout the panorama.
